Tahirih Perez

Dance Tumbling
Tahirih Perez has been dancing for nearly 23 years, beginning her training at age two in ballet at a small studio in Brisbane, Australia. After moving to New Jersey, she transitioned from recreational to competitive dance very quickly, training intensively for over a decade in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, acro, jazz, tap, and more, with a strong focus on technique and versatility. As a competitive dancer, she was an undefeated soloist for nearly four consecutive years, consistently earning first place awards and once scoring just .3 away from a perfect score. A few of her experiences include being a Broadway Dance Center scholarship recipient, a Dance Awards finalist, touring with Chloe Lukasiak of Dance Moms on TTTour, and receiving callbacks for So You Think You Can Dance and America’s Got Talent. She graduated in 2021 with her Bachelors of Arts in Dance at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, and currently spends her days full-time conducting coral reef research in Kāneʻohe Bay, Hawaiʻi, and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, working alongside leading scientists. However, dance continues to tug strongly at her heart. Though her identity has always been rooted in being a dancer, Tahirih is now excited to begin her journey as a teacher, feeling it would be a loss not to share the years of training and experience she’s gained with the next generation of dancers.
