Tuition and Financial Aid

A Punahou education is a gift and investment towards your child’s future, and students are admitted to Punahou based on their potential to thrive, not on their family’s ability to pay. Our robust financial aid program allows us to attract and enroll the best and brightest students. Supported by the generosity of our donors, we are able to offer approximately $10 Million in need-based financial aid each year.

Applying for Financial Aid

A Punahou education is an investment towards your child’s future. However, we understand that applying for financial aid may feel daunting to some, and we are here to help you through the process. As you navigate the financial aid application process, or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. One of our Financial Aid team members will be there to assist you. You may reach us at financialaid@punahou.edu.

For Punahou families with a currently enrolled student, please refer to your myPunahou Resource Board for your specific due dates and timeline.
Financial aid awards take into account a variety of considerations including, but not limited to, income (both taxable and non-taxable), assets, net worth, basic living expenses, family size and the number of children attending tuition-charging schools (except graduate school.) Financial aid awards are need-based and not based on a student’s academic, artistic or athletic abilities.

Tuition and Payment Options

Punahou is fortunate to have the support of a vast array of donors. With their support, and well established endowments, the full cost of a Punahou education is not passed on to our families. Tuition does not reflect the full cost of a Punahou education.
