Band Explorations

Fifth grade Band Explorations is open to students with or without previous music experience. Students will be introduced to flute, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone during the introductory unit at the beginning of the year. Students will select an instrument with the guidance of their band director after the second cycle. This year-long course focuses on fundamental skills such as instrument assembly and care, embouchure formation, tone production, and rhythm and note reading. Students will also work on ensemble and classroom skills, working as a team, individual practice techniques, performance skills, and music appreciation. At the end of the year, we will celebrate with a performance for family and friends during the school day.
