Punahou Alumni Association

Letter from the PAA President

Aloha Punahou Alumni,

I hope this message finds you safe, well and in good spirits!

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the chapters of the Punahou Alumni Association (PAA), it gives me great pleasure to extend a warm aloha to all our 30,000+ alumni members around the world.  With much of the pandemic behind us now, we are excited about the upcoming year of in-person activities and engagements, as the PAA continues its mission to reach, connect and engage with the Punahou alumni community.

In the coming year, our Alumni Association has planned an exciting lineup of experiences and initiatives. Our signature event, Dinner in the Buff (’n Blue), invites alumni chefs and others in the food and beverage industry to prepare fantastic dishes for an evening of fun and engagement. The area outside the chapel plays host to this wonderful gathering, beautifully lit up and filled with the sounds of music and memories.  Bingo Night, the annual Golf Tournament, Virtuosos & Vino and Reunion Week activities culminating in Alumni Luau, are all amazing opportunities for you to connect with fellow alumni, share your experiences, and continue your personal and professional development.

I invite you to stay connected with us through our various online platforms. The alumni website, social media channels and the Punahou Bulletin will keep you informed about the latest happenings, success stories of fellow alums and ways in which you can engage with the association and Punahou.  And the newly launched Ka ‘Ohana Punahou platform offers you a central location online to find classmates, post job opportunities and connect with fellow alums around the globe.

To our newest members from the Class of 2023, congratulations on your remarkable achievement. The Alumni Association is here to serve as a bridge between you and Punahou.  While your focus now may be college and other new opportunities, it is never too early to stay connected with Punahou.  We are all very proud to count you as part of our alumni family and cannot wait to see where your talent, passion and determination will lead you.

Our association is built on the foundation of shared experiences, friendships, and the unbreakable bond we all share with Punahou. It is this connection that makes us a formidable force, capable of making a significant impact on the world around us.  The true strength of any association lies in its members. Whether you can spare a few hours to mentor a current student or volunteer at one of our alumni events, your involvement and participation will have a lasting impact on both Punahou and the world at large.

I look forward to meeting and reconnecting with each one of you soon.

With warm aloha,
Malcolm M. Leong ’88
PAA President 2023 – 2024
The Punahou Alumni Association (PAA) is a private nonprofit organization that exists to organize and participate in educational, social, and cultural programs that reach, connect and engage the Punahou Alumni community while supporting the core mission of Punahou School.

PAA is a private nonprofit organization, which works closely with Punahou School and the Office of Alumni Relations. The association was officially founded in 1906, though informal alumni meetings are documented as early as 1864. It has an elected Board of Directors through which its activities and services to alumni and the School are realized.
