The ILH was formed in 1909 when Punahou, Kamehameha, and McKinley began regular competition. The HHSAA tournament began competition in 1959.
The Punahou baseball program has produced competitive teams as well as players who have gone on to be successful collegiate and professional ball players. Competition at a high level with direction toward performance values, tradition and love of the game continue to be goals for Punahou baseball.
