Kindergarten – Grade 1 Music

Kindergarten and first grade children sing, play instruments, listen to music, describe music, move to music, and make their own music. They demonstrate a steady beat with their bodies and instruments like egg shakers and jingle bells. They also play pitched instruments like xylophones, metallophones, and tone bells to accompany their singing. They learn about music through their active participation. Music classes are a time of joyful expression and a time to make connections with other people and new ideas.
