Academy Orchestras

The Academy Orchestra program includes three orchestras open to violin, viola, cello, and string bass players with prior playing experience. Concert Orchestras I and II offer exposure to a broad range of musical styles and composers. Symphony Orchestra performs collegiate level concert repertoire. The annual Concerto Concert provides an auditioned opportunity for 12th graders enrolled in Symphony or Wind Ensemble, to perform as soloists. Depending on the ensemble, every orchestra student performs 2 – 4 concerts per year. A Chamber Music program is offered as a collaboration between the Music Department and Music School for interested and qualified students.
