Tuition and Financial Aid

A Punahou education is a gift and an investment towards your child’s future, and students are admitted to Punahou based on their potential to thrive, not on their family’s ability to pay. Our robust financial aid program allows us to attract and enroll the best and brightest students. Supported by the generosity of our donors, we are able to offer approximately $10 Million in need-based financial aid each year.

For Punahou families with a currently enrolled student, please refer to your myPunahou Resource Board for your specific due dates and timeline.

Financial aid awards take into account a variety of considerations including, but not limited to, income (both taxable and non-taxable), assets, net worth, basic living expenses, family size and tuition expenses for children attending tuition-charging schools (except graduate school.) Financial aid awards are need-based and not based on a student’s academic, artistic or athletic abilities.

This tool may give you an idea of what you could pay in tuition at our school based on the awards we’ve given in recent years. Due to the complexity of many financial situations (self-employment, rental properties, earning potential of non-working parents, etc), the financial aid decision you receive may or may not align with the results provided here. Should I apply? Every family's situation is different. After evaluating your budget and maximizing your resources, if you are concerned if a Punahou education is within reach, then we encourage you to apply.
