Endowed Funds

Joseph F. ’67 and Cheryl Watkins

Joe Watkins ’67 felt incredibly fortunate to be in a position to establish this endowed financial aid fund during his 50th Reunion in 2017 to benefit present and future Punahou students. While society continues to evolve at an accelerating pace, the persistent values embodied by the Punahou educational experience have served as a steadfast touchstone.
During the years since Punahou, he co-founded three companies, sold two of them to international firms, and currently serves as director of the third, which has developed breakthrough patented sustainable technology with support from the Department of Energy. He lives and works in New Jersey, and is proud of his children and grandchildren. Joe continues to be inspired by the way Punahou embraces its bedrock values and traditions, while adapting to a changing world. He feels fortunate to have experienced the great gift of a Punahou education, and he and his wife, Cheryl, take great satisfaction in establishing this fund, knowing that their support might enable others to participate in the very special and transformational Punahou educational experience.
