Willy Falk ’76 Endowed Fund for Theatre

The Willy Falk ’76 Endowed Fund for Theatre was established in gratitude for the valuable acting, music, and dance training Willy received during his years at Punahou and the many performing experiences on the Dillingham stage which made him dream of a life in professional theatre.

After graduating from Punahou, Harvard University, and The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Willy performed in Broadway shows and appeared on stages throughout the United States, Canada and Europe in a multi-faceted career.

He created the role of “Chris” in the original Broadway company of the musical Miss Saigon, for which he received a Tony Award nomination. He began his professional career as “Paul” in the tour of A Chorus Line, which played in over a hundred cities in the United States. For his Broadway debut, he created the role of “Tommy” in Marilyn: An American Fable and his solo from that show, “You Are So Beyond,” became a cult favorite.  He was also on Broadway in Les Misérables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Starlight Express, and The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

As an operatic singer, he was seen in New York in The Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus, The Crucible, and sang “Hoffmann” in Les Contes d’Hoffmann in France. He also made many recordings including musicals, opera, popular, and Hawaiian music and has appeared on television.
