Dr. Sada Okumura ’67 and her husband, Dr. John Drouilhet, established the Suyeki (1929) and Tsuneo K. Okumura Endowed Financial Aid Fund to honor the memory of her parents. Suyeki Okumura was an attorney and co-founding partner of Okumura Takushi Funaki & Wee. He served as a trustee of Punahou School from 1977 – 1984 and was recognized with the “O” in Life in 1987. Suyeki was the youngest of the 13 children of the Rev. Takie Okumura who founded Makiki Christian Church. Suyeki and three older siblings were all Punahou alumni. Tsuneo was a social worker. Sada entered Punahou in 6th grade, along with her sisters, Yoko ’71 and Miki ’73. The Okumura sisters appreciated their years at Punahou and would like to help others experience the same educational environment.
