The Jasmine ’11, Jonah ’18, and Amanda ’25 Lai Endowed Financial Aid Fund was established by Jonathan ’88 and AlvaAnn Uchimura ’89 Lai out of gratitude for the many years spent at Punahou School. Jasmine, Jonah, and Amanda benefitted from the diverse opportunities that a Punahou education offers, including participating in speech and debate, athletics, dance, and co-curricular travel to Italy, France, Japan, and Alaska.
Jasmine received her Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations from Claremont McKenna College and her Juris Doctor from the William S. Richardson School of Law with a Certificate in Pacific-Asian Legal Studies. Jasmine is a practicing real estate attorney and volunteers as a judge at debate tournaments.
Jonah received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Southern California’s Leventhal School of Accounting and is currently working at a public accounting firm in Los Angeles. Amanda is studying Psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle and hopes to pursue a career in the sciences.
Jasmine, Jonah, and Amanda also cherish the lifelong friendships and mentorships that defined their journey, crediting their teachers, coaches, administrators, and peers with helping them become the individuals they are today. Our family hopes that this fund will support other Punahou students in their journeys through Punahou School.
