Throughout the 2024 – 2025 school year, Punahou’s parent volunteers went above and beyond to support our community. Members of the Parent Advancement Council (PAC) and Parent Leadership Giving Council (PLGC) always bring passion, creativity and care to everything they do.
This year, parent leaders welcomed new families with a heartfelt video introducing them to Punahou’s tradition of giving. They brought energy and warmth to every moment of our Giving Day in April by setting exciting challenge gift goals and coordinating class-wide outreach efforts. From setting up signs throughout campus, cheering during drop-off; and handing out swag, our volunteers helped to create an extraordinary day of Buff ’n Blue pride.
Each of our 13 classes, K – 12, had a cohort of PAC representatives who rallied their peers and helped spread the word. Their coordinated outreach drove remarkable results: over 1,560 current parent donors participated in Giving Day, a 12% increase from last year, and revenue from current parents nearly doubled, increasing by 70%! Even more impressive, every single class surpassed 100 current parent donors. The Class of 2037 topped the charts with an astounding 98% participation rate, followed closely by the Class of 2035 at 97%.
Overall parent participation reached 50%, a testament to the strong sense of community and shared purpose that defines Punahou. “It really is amazing to be part of such a supportive and engaged parent community,” said PAC member Carly Wong ’99 Teruya, P’34. “It’s not just about reaching goals, it’s about showing our children what it means to give back and show gratitude.”
More than just fundraising, our visionary parent volunteers help us to celebrate what our home means to us, where the spirit of generosity fuels bold ideas and shared dreams.
