GIVING TO PUNAHOU 2024 – 2025

Discovering Community Through Giving

Together at last, the Class of 1970 cheerfully celebrate with the traditional procession after missing their 50th Reunion in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Alumni donors contributed more than $9.2M to Punahou in the 2024 – 2025 school year!
Celebrating outstanding teamwork and planning, the 2005 20th Reunion Committee proudly presents their Class Gift to Dr. Latham and the School.
Each of the additional 16 classes celebrating their Reunions this year also came together to give back to Punahou. Overall, more than 4,128 alumni made donations this year, both large and small. Together, all of these gifts make a tremendous difference in allowing our keiki to pursue their dreams and begin to discover their purpose, and in turn, our alumni benefit from the sense of community they build by working together.

The Class of 1970 was able to celebrate their 55th Reunion together this year, an event that felt momentous as they were not able to celebrate their 50th in person. Reunion Activity Chair Gary Paccaro ’70 shared, “Our class has stayed strong and engaged over the years through organized Zoom calls, regional reunions and annual gatherings on Maui. I’m truly inspired by my classmates’ ongoing commitment to each other.” Gift Committee Co-Chair Russell Lau ’70 added, “It’s been genuinely enjoyable working with my dedicated and helpful classmates leading up to our Reunion. Everyone brings collaboration, humor, and a deep connection to this place. What truly surprised me is the generosity of our class, from raising a record $3.7 million during COVID to leading again with $2.48 million for our 55th reunion.”

The Class of 2005 was extremely excited to come together this year to celebrate their 20th Reunion, after missing their 15th Reunion due to the pandemic. All of this momentum helped propel them to the highest total number of gifts on Giving Day, with an incredible 123 donors. Finishing with the highest overall Reunion giving participation at 38%, the Class of 2005 set 20th Reunion giving records with 219 donors and more than $300,000. They were especially creative in their activities, merchandise and communications, creating a wonderful website, hosting a pop-up market featuring classmate entrepreneurs, and offering fun social promotions of events and gifts.

Reunion Gift Chair Arlen Kam ’05 said, “It’s been wonderful reconnecting and reflecting on our years at Punahou. It feels meaningful to give back and help future generations enjoy those same opportunities.” Myca Ferrer ’05, also a Gift Committee member, added, “This has been a full-circle moment; a chance to celebrate who we were, who we’ve become, and what we still want to build together. It’s a powerful reminder of how strong our Punahou bond really is.”
