A teacher in Hawaiʻi’s public schools in her twenties, she later became a trustee of Kaʻiulani Home for Girls (1942 – 1972) and served as president of Kapiʻolani Maternity Hospital in the late 1940s. Throughout the next two decades, she was active in or a director of The Outdoor Circle, Daughters of Hawaiʻi and ʻIolani Guild of St. Andrews Cathedral.

Henrietta was the mother of three Punahou alumni: Cline (1941), Patty (1942) Nottingham, and James (1946), and the grandmother of five alumni, all with the surname Dowsett – Cordy ’65 McLaughlin, Kimo ’68, Jay ’71, Allan ’74 and Tricia ’75 Van Mourick.

  • Di Mauro Family Endowment

Chris Di Mauro ’85 was inspired to create the Di Mauro Family Endowment out of gratitude for the wonderful 12 years he spent at the school. Many of his fondest memories occurred during his time at Punahou, and he benefited from many deep and lasting friendships that were created during that time.

Some favorite memories were sprinting from the Winne Units down to Carnival, playing against the teachers in the 5th/6th grade lunchtime basketball all-star game, kangaroo court and senior skip day. Chris admires the culture of excellence which Punahou instills in its students, providing them with both an ethical and spiritual framework with which to navigate life beyond the school.

Chris hopes this fund will allow future students to benefit from the same experiences he enjoyed for many years to come.
