  • Be thorough.

Read through the job posting in detail to ensure that the position is a good fit for your background, experience, and skill set. When submitting your application, ensure it is aligned with the experience, skills and competencies listed on the job posting.
  • Be specific.

List specific details of your background. If you are applying for a teaching position, list your teaching experience by subjects and grade levels; include committee participation; explain leadership roles; and share any other applicable experience. If you are applying to a staff position, please list past positions, responsibilities,  duties, and related  accomplishments.
  • Be consistent.

Ensure that your application and resume include consistent information. If the information listed differs, a member from our Talent Management Team may need to clarify your experience, which may slow down the hiring process.
  • Watch the clock.

The application website will time out after two hours for your own security. When submitting your application, be sure that you have the time to commit to the application process. If your time is almost up, we recommend completing the required fields and submitting as soon as possible. Once your application has been submitted, you can always return to update your application.

Review

Your application will be thoroughly and carefully reviewed by the Talent Management Team at Punahou School.

We will look at each application to ensure each applicant has the experience and background required for the position they applied for. You may be contacted if aspects of your background or experience require further clarification. Beyond this, your application will be reviewed carefully to ascertain that your background and experience will transfer well to any other position or upcoming vacancies.

Some positions require additional skills testing as part of the screening process. If you do need to complete a skills test, someone will guide you through the skills testing process.
