Tracee Lee (1991)

Tennis
2016 Inductee
Tracee Lee entered the Punahou tennis program with a singular goal in mind: to play professionally.

“The tennis program at Punahou was one of the factors that made the dream of playing on the professional tour possible and tangible for me,” Lee said. “Being at Punahou, immersed in a culture that strives for excellence, I was encouraged to reach for the stars at a young age.”

With a focus on that goal, Lee took advantage of the opportunities that Punahou provided to fine-tune her game, picking up a couple of state titles along the way.

Lee, who was a member of a Punahou squad that won four straight state titles, won her first state singles title as a junior, defeating Jean Okada of Lahainaluna, 6-4, 6-2. She followed that win with a 7-5, 6-2 win over teammate Kathy Peterson ’91.

Following Punahou, Lee went to the University of Pacific, where she ranks in the top 10 in many of its singles records. She also went on to join the Women’s Tennis Association, playing a WTA Tour and International Tennis Federation Pro Circuit main draw matches in both singles and doubles.
