How We Buff ’n Blue

We Inspire!

Thanks to the tremendous efforts of our parent volunteer groups, donations from Punahou parents reached an all-time high for 2021 – 2022!
Volunteers from Punahou’s Parent Advancement Council (PAC) and the Parent Leadership Giving Council (PLGC) helped promote Punahou’s first Giving Day. They decorated the campus with buff ’n blue, cheered their support during drop-off and reached out to their grade-level cohorts in hopes of making it to the top of the donor leaderboards. Their efforts resulted in over 900 parent donors in a 24-hour period and raised $172,000 for our students.
Punahou parents more than doubled participation in giving over the last three years, with almost 1,500 families making gifts in 2021 – 2022!
PAC volunteer Steffany Ho ’95 Wong said, “It was absolutely wonderful to see fellow parents rise up in support of Punahou this year. The campus was buzzing with community spirit and excitement to help our students. We are grateful to have been a part of it and thrilled to be able to give back to the school.” PAC also oversaw a project to send thank you notes to every parent donor this year and hosted a mahalo reception for parent and grandparent donors. Because of our parent volunteers and Punahou families coming together to support our School, we raised important funds for our students, programs and campus community. Parent volunteerism and participation in giving back also models generosity of spirit for our keiki as they become the next generation of leaders and caretakers of our world.
