Meli James ’96

Meli James is the cofounder of Mana Up, a Hawaii-based product accelerator and economic development initiative building the state’s next generation of consumer brands. Born and raised in Honolulu, Meli lived in Silicon Valley for more than 10 years where she co-founded and contributed to numerous startups in the Bay Area and Honolulu, including Nirvino, which was a #1 ranked wine app, an Apple Platform Top 100 App and Top Ten Lifestyles App during its time.
In 2016, she was recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of five Women to Watch, and in 2017, was recognized once again by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of eight Women Leaders Who Are Disrupting Entrepreneurship. She also serves as president of the Hawaii Venture Capital Association, an organization that helps to foster entrepreneurship through education, networking and access to capital. Meli is a graduate of Punahou School and Cornell University.
