Crew

Punahou joined the ILH Crew program in 1957, competing with Iolani, McKinley and Kaimuki. By 1966, both public schools had dropped the program. Although Punahou and Iolani continued to row in dual meets for a few more years, crew was no longer considered an official ILH sport.

Flag Football

ILH 8-man flag football was started in the fall of 1969, in order to provide a football opportunity for boys in smaller ILH schools and for boys in larger schools who did not play tackle football. It was this experience in flag football that gave encouragement to the smaller ILH schools to combine in tackle football as the Pac-5 entity. Flag football was dropped by the ILH after the 1972 season.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics started at Punahou in 1966. The girls competed under the Hawaii Gymnastic Association with public and private schools. In 1972, the first ILH championship was held. Besides the ILH competition, the girls continued until 1984 to compete as a club in the age group competition, sanctioned by the United States Gymnastics Federation.

Boys gymnastics competition started in 1973, but was dropped after the 1983 season. Boys competition suffered as only two schools. Kamehameha and Punahou remained in the program, and unlike the girls program, there was little or no competition elsewhere in the community.

From 1985 – 1990 the ILH had two girls varsity divisions, "AA" (for club-level girls) and "A" (non-club girls) to keep competition equal. In 1991, the ILH reverted to one varsity division and in 1993 added gymnastics at the intermediate level.
