Today was jam-packed full of activity for this group of students. “We started a little earlier than usual to make our way to the giant Buddha statue and temple, known as Kuensel Phodrang, up on a nearby mountainside,” one student said. “The gold-plated statue, visible from down in the valley, was even more massive in person than we expected!”

The group then visited the Choki Traditional Art School, which is the only private art school in Bhutan. “The school provides an environment to practice traditional techniques and also allows the students to express their creativity,” one student said.

“After lunch, we went up a mountain to plant saplings for a forestry project. It was tough work,” a student said. “While it was a strenuous task, it was a very fun and rewarding experience.”
