Capstone: Alaska

Today, students researched various aspects of salmon in Alaska; topics included myths about the Salmon People, salmon’s economic effects, different types of salmon, and more.

To further their lesson, they learned how to properly cut a salmon. “The work was hard and gave me a new appreciation for the food I eat,” wrote Parker ‘18. “Cutting and cleaning the salmon as well as skinning and cutting the goose in Barrow has shown me the hard work that goes into preparing food.”
