“After arriving at the Marae in Raglan, we stayed the night in the meeting hall,” Maile ‘18 wrote. “This experience at the Marae was an amazing opportunity to stay in the very heart of Maori culture and life. All of our hosts immediately welcomed us into their homes and treated us like family.”

“After leaving the Marae, we rode the bus to the Raglan Extreme Zero Waste recycling center,” Maile ‘18 wrote. “By keeping all of the recycled items in Raglan, the zero waste facility improves the economy of the local area and helps its residents.”

The group then headed to the Bridal falls hike, where they witnessed a 55-meter-high waterfall.
