“On the morning of June 28th we boarded the bus and headed to a Marae, a traditional Maori meeting house,” Lucas ‘18 wrote. “The formal ceremony of being welcomed into a Marae is called a Powhiri (pronounced po-fe-ree).”

“We went up to the top of a nearby hill where could see the harbor. We were standing on a farm where innovative ideas to preserve, protect and restore the environment are being practiced.
