Punahou is a member of the School Year Abroad Consortium, which provides high school Juniors a full year living with a European or Asian family while earning U.S. graduation credits and receiving rigorous preparation for U.S. colleges and universities.
Every year, approximately 60 students from across the U.S. study at each of these sites:
- Beijing, China
- Rennes, France
- Viterbo, Italy
- Zaragoza, Spain
Students must be entering grade 11, applying as sophomores for their junior year abroad.
Applicants for France and Spain must have language background.
Apply through Wo International Center by February 3, 2014.
Lakeside Peru Semester
Situated in Ollantaytambo, Peru, this semester program gives
students from Punahou (and other partner schools) the opportunity to live with
Peruvian families and participate in a service-learning, academically
challenging semester program. Punahou students may choose to apply for the fall
or spring semester.

The Sidwell Friends School China Fieldwork Semester
The Sidwell Friends School China Fieldwork Semester (CFS) is
an intensive project-based student research program in Xizhou, Yunnan, for
sixteen Juniors or Seniors, American and Chinese, working together in a
research “collaboratory” housed in a historic residential facility. This
program is available for the spring semester only.
