It was a nail-biter. With Notre Dame down 20 – 6 in the fourth quarter, alumni faced a dilemma: watch Manti Te’o ’09, Robby Toma ’09 and the rest of the Fighting Irish — or roll the ball. Fortunately, attendees of the Punahou Alumni Association’s Puns & Pins bowling party at Aiea Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 3, 1012, were able to do both and not miss a minute of the game they came to play.

About 70 attendees, including alumni, current students and their families — representing the Classes of 1964 to 2024 — connected for an afternoon of fun bowling (and football watching!). The yummy spread of hot dogs, salad, rice and The Alley’s award-winning Tasty Chicken helped to energize the players and fuel friendly competition. Random drawings and lots of lucky winners allowed almost everyone to go home with a Punahou logo prize.
No matter what their score, a fun time was had by all. And, in case you don’t know by now, Notre Dame beat Pittsburgh, 26 – 23.
Special thanks to Gregg Uyeda ’82, owner of Aiea Bowl. Let’s go practice for next year!
