Punahou School is a resource for the broader community, offering diverse
after-school and summer courses for students, professional development for
educators, global travel opportunities, and exhilarating options in athletics
and the performing arts. The School also regularly hosts engaging speakers on
topics of community interest, and invites the public to join in the discussion
at these free evening events.
For Punahou Students
Students K – 12 have tremendous opportunities to extend their learning during the regular school year through After School programs and special curricular electives. Summer School programs offer an incredible variety of experiences, as well as an opportunity for Academy students to earn additional academic credits.
For Non-Punahou Students
Punahou's After School and Summer School programs offer students from throughout the community the opportunity to extend their learning and be a part of the Punahou experience. Most After School programs are available to non-Punahou students, with grades levels ranging K – 12. Summer School courses are available to non-Punahou students K – 8.
Driver education and SAT prep course are also available to high school students from the community.
Punahou is committed to not only the professional development of its own faculty, but sharing innovative ideas and collaborating with educators around the world. There are several opportunities each year for educators from Punahou and the community to advance their craft through speaker engagements and forums, as well as comprehensive professional development programs and seminars.
For Adults in the Community
In addition to a number of public events each year, featuring speaker engagements and community forums on a variety of topics, Punahou also offers select After School courses to adults, in Hawaiian Arts and Tennis.
