Alumni Compete At Olympics

Two 1998 Punahou alumni were among the world-class athletes who competed at the 30th Summer Olympics in London, July 27 to August 12, 2012.

Three-time Olympian Lindsey Berg claimed a silver medal as captain of the U.S. women’s indoor volleyball team, which lost to Brazil in the finals.The team also took silver in 2008 and came in fifth in 2004. Berg, a standout athlete at Punahou, starred at the University of Minnesota before playing professionally in Europe. As a setter withTeam USA, she has won numerous honors and accolades.

Keitani Graham represented the Federated States of Micronesia in Greco-Roman wrestling.While he did not advance beyond the qualifying rounds, the Chuukese athlete maintains the distinction of being Micronesia’s first Olympic wrestler, which “is out- standing news for the development of wrestling in the FSM and is a great honor for Graham,” the FSM National Olympic Committee said in a news release.
