Letter from the Na Wahine Pa‘ani Punahou President

Department: Athletics

Na Wahine Pa‘ani o Punahou’s flower booth at Carnival was a huge success again this year. This success would not have been possible without generous donations from flower growers across the islands, many of who have donated cut flowers and greens for years. Pa‘ani appreciates their generosity and hopes that the Punahou community will support these fabulous flower farms.

On Maui, we would like to thank the Sullivan Farm, Carver Wilson ’70 at Maui Floral, Valley View Protea Farm and Pueonui Farm. On Hawai‘i Island, we would like to thank Greenpointnursery.com, Norma Watts at Always Anthuriums, and Floral Resources. On O‘ahu, we received donations from many people and businesses, but want to give special thanks to Noel Pacarro’s ’93 Auntie Lauren, John Morgan ’74 of Kualoa Ranch, Susie Anderson ’83, Hargon Holland ’80 and Watanabe Floral. The roses that Watanabe Floral donates are becoming a favored tradition for those wanting to give something special to Variety Show performers.

Over the last couple of years, Pa‘ani has been very lucky to have Sandi Sheeley volunteering her time, talent, and supplies to create our fabulous flower arrangements. Lacey Pfeffer lent her wonderful flower-arranging talents to our booth as well.

Mahalo to Sandy, Lacey, our growers and hard-working volunteers for making the Pa‘ani booth a success. The money we raise helps make a difference in girls’ athletics at Punahou.

Nedra Dwyer ’90 Manson
2007- 2008 Pa‘ani President
