Everyone started off the day visiting Sun Yat-Sen's hometown, Cuiheng Village. They learned about Sun Yat-Sen's upbringing and more about his travels to Hawai‘i when he was younger, which helped to inspire him to make changes back in China as he grew up and eventually became the "Father of Modern China."
The orchestra spent their final evening in Zhongshan performing their second concert for the general public of the city. The concert was a joint performance with a youth orchestra from Zhongshan. The two orchestras performed a traditional Chinese song together and had the chance to talk and meet with other musicians backstage and during dinner. It was a great opportunity to make more connections with Chinese students through the shared love of music. Punahou students look forward to traveling to Foshan tomorrow.
