  • First-Graders Express Their Creative Sides

    Over the summer, first-graders stimulated their creativity in First ARTists, a class where they delved into art, reading, drama and cooking. Activities included puppet shows, baking pretzel hotdogs and mixing paint to create different colors.

    Poetry is an art form that bridges language’s shortcomings. On April 28, 2016, at a special poetry reading entitled “Poetry and Identity,” students witnessed poetry’s ability to express who we are.

At the Heart of Punahou School’s Mission:

To provide an environment where students can: ... Develop and enhance creativity and appreciation of the arts.

From kindergarten to grade 12, students enjoy broad exposure to the arts as an integral part of the curriculum, by participating in clubs and through a wide variety of co-curricular options. The scope of opportunity includes both visual arts and performing arts. Co-curricular classes are also available to the community through the Music School and the Dance School.
