It was a perfect summer Sunday for a professional baseball game with friends. Thirty alumni and their ‘ohana met up at Safeco Field in Seattle on July 30 for a Major League Baseball matchup between the Seattle Mariners and the New York Mets. The hometown Mariners won 9 – 1.

The Jumbotron screen welcomed Punahou Alumni Association Northwest members while alumni caught up with each other and enjoyed the game. Children 14 and under were also invited to take a lap around the Safeco Field bases after the game.

This is an annual event for PAANW, and this year’s game attracted a range of alumni who graduated from 1964 to 2010. The sports-loving chapter will meet again on August 27 to watch the Major League Soccer Seattle Sounders play against the Portland Timbers at Century Link Field.
