Listening Meetings

September 18, 2017

The following message was sent by Mark Fukunaga, Chair, and Deborah Berger, Vice Chair, on behalf of the Presidential Search Committee...

As a member of the Punahou community, we welcome you to join us in the next phase of Punahou’s presidential search. Your viewpoint about Punahou and its next president will inform the development of the position description that will be shared with prospective presidential candidates.

We would like to invite you to join one of the Listening Meetings being planned on O‘ahu and across the globe during October and November. A member of the Presidential Search Committee and when possible, one of our consultants from our search firm Spencer Stuart (Mary Gorman, Hypatia Kingsley or Kristine Johnson) will be at each of these events. If you aren’t able to join one of these events, you will have the opportunity to complete an online survey that will be available in the next few weeks.

At these meetings, we will be seeking responses to these questions:

  • What are the core values and key strengths of Punahou? What makes this a special place?
  • What are your aspirations for Punahou? What are the challenges the School will face in pursuing these aspirations? If you could look forward several years from now, after a successful transition, what might be different (and better) about Punahou?
  • Given the culture, aspirations and challenges, what qualities, skills and experiences would you like to see in the next President?
  • What advice do you have for the Spencer Stuart team?

See the Presidential Search page for a complete list of meetings, and to RSVP.
